Aldi leaves rivals out in the cold with 7 wins at the British Frozen Food Federation Awards

We’ve achieved a cool triumph at the 2009 British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF) awards, beating rival retailers Morrisons, M&S and Asda with seven award wins, receiving accolades within five of the seven frozen food product categories.

We scooped winner of two Gold, three Silver and two Bronze awards; more than any other retailer entered into the prestigious BFFF Retail Awards. The annual awards aim to reward and recognise the highest quality and product innovation within the frozen food market.

The poultry category was particularly successful, naming us as both Gold and Silver finalists. The Gold went to our exotic Chicken En Croute with Mango, Chilli and Pak Choi, part of our high-quality convenience range; Cook it, Taste, it, Love it. The Duck Legs in Plum Sauce, also from the Cook it, Taste it, Love it collection, beat off the competition to take the Silver.

Judged by panels of UK consumers on factors such as appearance, taste and value for money, the Federation’s annual awards are referred to as the ‘people’s choice’ and are now in their 22nd year.
