Latest Aldi News – The Daily Mail
We are constantly featured in the press for our great value products and unique style of ‘smart shopping’, but one article that really stood out was a feature in The Daily Mail’s Femail Magazine which featured the experiences of a busy mother-of-three when she visited her local Aldi store. Amanda Cable, a Sainsbury’s and M&S devotee put every aspect of the store to the test for a week… here’s just some of her feedback from her experience.
Fill your trolley for less
“Last week I spent £160 on food and drinks - £120 filling my trolley at Sainsbury’s and another £40 at M&S”
“My trolley (at Aldi) is laden with 46 items, my usual weekly mixture of fresh meat, pizzas, fruit, vegetables, kitchen and bath cleaners, pasta and drinks. An almost identical trolley cost me £120 last week. Today my total bill for the week is just £45. An astonishing saving of £75 with just one shopping trip. I have saved more money than I thought possible”
“I estimate my saving over 12 months would be an astonishing £3,600 if I switched my weekly shop to Aldi”
Fresh fruit and vegetables
“I expect that the quality of the fruit and vegetables on offer may be poor – but I am wrong. The fruit is firm and ripe.”
“I usually pay a small fortune to satisfy my family’s weekly demand for fruit and vegetables. But the Aldi savings continue.”
The Aldi experience
“I’m thrilled with my bargains and, if it’s possible, I actually rather enjoyed my in-store shopping experience.”
“So I’m joining the mass of new middle-class Aldi shoppers – off to spend a little less and live a lot – with wide smiles on our faces!”
