Château Grand Pey Lescours St Émilion Grand Cru

A patrician Claret from a fine 25 Ha, estate in the foothills of St Èmilion owned and run by the Escure family since 1924. The gravel over sand soil with traces of iron pan is planted with mature fully 25 year old vines: 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks fitted with internal temperature control systems with around three weeks vatting. Seventy five percent of the new wine is matured in French oak barrels for 20 months. Red berry fruit flavours with hints of bell-pepper and mint, it is the perfect partner for game, goose and rich beef and venison stews.
