Strawberry & Chocolate French Toast Rolls

Chocolatey goodness, encased in crisp, sugary toast and topped with sweet strawberries.

Serves: 6 people | Prep time: 20 minutes | Cooking time: 8 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 Medium White Bread Slices
  • 100g Hazelnut Chocolate Spread
  • 150g Strawberries, finely chopped
  • 1 Medium Egg
  • 30ml Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 40g Caster Sugar
  • 40g Unsalted Butter

Method

  1. Cut the crusts off the bread and roll out the slices with a rolling pin.
  2. Spread the bread with the hazelnut chocolate spread.
  3. Divide the strawberries between the slices, placing them in the middle of each slice.
  4. Roll-up the bread slices into tubes.
  5. Whisk the egg, milk and vanilla essence together and pour onto a plate.
  6. Pour the caster sugar onto another plate.
  7. Melt the butter in a frying pan.
  8. In the meantime, roll the tubes in the egg mixture.
  9. Fry in the pan for 5-8 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and crisp.
  10. Remove from the pan, roll in the caster sugar and serve immediately.
  11. Great served with vanilla ice cream.
