Ingredients
500g pack Specially Selected Aberdeen Angus Steak Mince
4 Gherkins, drained and sliced
8 slices of Mature Cheddar Cheese
400g Four Seasons French Fries
Salt and pepper
For the burger sauce:
200g Mayonnaise
20g American mustard 15g Tomato Ketchup
1 tsp Paprika
½ tsp Garlic Granules
For the pickled onions:
1 small Red Onion, thinly sliced 120 ml White Vinegar
120ml Water
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Sugar
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- In a small pan, heat the vinegar, water, sugar, and salt until just warm and the sugar dissolves (no need to boil). Pour over sliced onion and set aside for 15 minutes.
- Make the sauce by mixing all the ingredients together. Set aside.
- Place chips on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes until crispy and golden.
- Heat a frying pan over a medium-high heat. Add the mince and cook for 6-8 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon as it browns. Season with salt and pepper.
- Just before the beef finishes cooking, lay the cheese slices over the meat chunks so they melt into the beef (you can cover the pan with a lid to help).
- Place the hot chips onto a serving platter, and scatter the cooked cheesy beef over the top.
- Garnish with sliced gherkins and pickled onion, and generously drizzle over the burger sauce. Serve immediately with extra sauce on the side.
