Chilli Chocolate Mousse

Spicy and sweet, this rich chocolate mousse is a delight.

Ingredients

  • 225ml Double Cream
  • 3 Egg Whites
  • 75g Caster Sugar
  • 225g Dark Chocolate 70%
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder

To serve:

  • Dark Chocolate, grated
  • Chilli Flakes
  • Chilli Powder
  • Pinch of Salt  

  

Method

  1. Whip cream until thickened into soft peaks.
  2. Next, whip egg whites into soft peaks then gradually add sugar and whisk again until stiff peaks.
  3. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 20 second blasts until fully melted and smooth, then stir through the chilli powder.
  4. Fold the whipped cream through the egg whites.
  5. Finally, fold the melted chocolate through the mixture and divide between 6 small glasses or bowls.
  6. Leave in the fridge for 1-2 hours until set, then top with grated chocolate and a pinch of chilli powder and chilli flakes.
