Char Sui Fried Rice

Recipe

A quick and tasty rice dish everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 200g Overnight basmati rice
  • 1 Egg
  • 100g Chair Sui pork
  • 70g Diced onion
  • 30g Diced red pepper
  • 30 Petit pois
  • 30g Frozen sweetcorn
  • 5g Curry powder
  • 10ml Light soy sauce
  • 10ml Dark soy sauce
  • 20ml Vegetable oil (split into 10ml at different points of the recipe)
  • 0.5 tsp Granulated sugar

For the Marinade

  • 51g Hoisin Sauce
  • 15g Ketchup
  • 15g Honey
  • 15g Dark Soy Sauce
  • 15g Pale Cream Sherry
  • 10g Ginger Puree
  • 5g Red Wine Vinegar
  • 5g Lemon Juice
  • 5g Garlic Puree
  • 5g Chilli Puree
  • 5g Red Food Colouring
  • 5g Schwartz Five Spice Powder
  • 1g Ground Cinnamon

  

Method

  1. First step is to marinade your pork, put all marinade ingredients together and place pork in a bag, cover with marinade and leave overnight.
  2. Cook pork fully according to pack instructions, ready for your rice.
  3. Add Light soy and dark soy to pre cooked and cooled overnight rice, mix through.
  4. Preheat 10ml of oil, add onions, fry, add pork, fry, add peppers, fry, sweetcorn then lastly peas and a pinch of salt and fry.
  5. Pour your beaten egg down the sides of the wok (not on stir fried food) allow to set, once set, mix through the stir fry.
  6. Add the other 10ml of oil, heat up then add rice mixture, sprinkle over curry powder and stir fry, sprinkle over sugar and mix through thoroughly.
