Spaghetti alla Marinara

A simply delicious pasta dish with a rich tomato sauce, perfect for the family.

Ingredients  

  • 400g Spaghetti
  • 2x 400g Tins Peeled Plum Tomatoes
  • 1x Large Red Onion
  • 4g Dried Basil
  • 1x 125g Pouch Mozzarella Cheese
  • 3x Cloves Garlic
  • 20ml Sunflower Oil

Method

  1. Peel the onion and finely chop
  2. Peel the garlic and mince
  3. Heat the oil in a frying pan and saute the onion and garlic for a few mins to soften
  4. Add the tinned tomatoes and the basil
  5. With a fork – break up the tomatoes – cook for 10 mins till thickened
  6. Meanwhile cook the pasta as directions on the pack
  7. Drain the liquid from the mozzarella – and chop finely
  8. Drain the pasta – divide between 4 x bowls – divide the tomato sauce between them and sprinkle over the mozzarella and serve
